Lead Assessor – Responsible Sourcing (APSCA Certified)

Role Purpose:

Deliver responsible sourcing assessments and services against local laws and various assessment standards. Conduct social compliance audits, evaluate workplace practices, provide improvement recommendations, and support clients in enhancing working conditions while ensuring high-quality reporting, professionalism, and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Book travel in accordance with assigned schedules. • Conduct opening meetings with management to outline audit scope and client expectations. • Interview management to understand facility practices. • Conduct facility walkthroughs to observe facility practices. • Review documentation that demonstrates facility practices and compliance. • Interview workers, ideally in their native language or with translator support, in a sensitive and impartial manner to verify workplace practices. • Triangulate data across multiple sources to reach informed conclusions regarding facility practices. • Present audit results to facility management. • Advise companies on opportunities to improve working conditions for workers. • Prepare comprehensive assessment reports in English in a timely and accurate manner. • Provide clients, facilities, vendors, and colleagues with clarifications regarding audit results and reports in a professional, timely, and accurate manner. • Achieve key performance targets related to report turnaround time, report quality, and budget.

What You'll Bring:

• Four-year college degree in Law, Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. • Minimum three years of experience in social compliance auditing. • Minimum 100 verifiable social compliance audit days. • APSCA registration required, with CSCA status. • Valid driver's license. • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time. • Strong business acumen. • Excellent customer service skills and results-oriented mindset. • Effective problem-solving and negotiation skills. • Excellent verbal and written English and French language skills; Spanish is a plus. • Adaptable and flexible approach to work. • Comfortable working across various industries, including manufacturing and food & beverage. • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet research, reporting, and analysis tools. • Ability to maintain a global perspective and demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity. • Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics. • Comfortable managing challenging conversations with a diplomatic and approachable style. • Ability to operate effectively in multicultural environments with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. • RBA, BSCI, or SLCP certification is a plus.
