Role Purpose
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Developer to take ownership of LRQA’s corporate website ecosystem and play a pivotal role in its evolution. As we insource our digital capabilities, this position becomes central to building a modern, scalable, and high‑performing web platform that reflects LRQA’s global brand and ambition.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, optimisation, and continuous improvement of our corporate website, currently built on Optimizely. Prior experience with Optimizely is highly beneficial, but experience with similar enterprise CMS platforms is equally valued, and we will provide time and support for the right individual to learn on the job.
This role suits a self‑starter who thrives in collaborative environments, engages confidently with business stakeholders, and enjoys guiding and uplifting more junior team members. As part of a newly formed team, the Senior Developer will help shape our engineering culture, ways of working, and long‑term digital capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a leading role in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of LRQA’s corporate website and associated digital components.
- Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and user‑centric technical solutions.
- Build high‑quality, maintainable, and well‑documented code aligned to modern engineering standards.
- Drive continuous improvement of our web platform, including performance, accessibility, SEO, and security.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and technology teams to deliver impactful digital experiences.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary scrum team environment.
- Mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support.
- Participate actively in code reviews, fostering a culture of quality and shared ownership.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the web stack.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of our CMS architecture and content workflows.
- Stay current with emerging web technologies, CMS capabilities, and digital experience trends.
- Utilise Git for version control and collaboration (experience with Azure DevOps advantageous).
- Document technical decisions, architectural approaches, and implementation details.
- Support the establishment of best practices for web development within a newly formed team (with support from a wider development team within LRQA)
Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements
- Proven experience in web development using modern frameworks and technologies.
- Experience with Optimizely (highly desirable) or similar enterprise CMS platforms.
- Familiarity with API integration, web services, and headless CMS concepts.
- Experience with Git for version control; Azure DevOps experience a plus.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and web security fundamentals.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred).
- Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior developers (advantageous).
