Inspection Service Delivery Manager – Netherlands
This role offers a remote working arrangement, with up to 50% of your time working in our Offices in Rotterdam, 20% – 30% remotely within the Netherlands and 20% – 30% spent travelling to client sites, operational locations, and attending key business meetings.
It is a leadership position requiring a high degree of autonomy, operational oversight, and stakeholder engagement. You will have responsibility for leading Inspection Services delivery across the Netherlands while ensuring quality, compliance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The role will also play a key part in supporting business growth and the deployment of new Inspection Service solutions, tools, services and processes.
Role Purpose
The Inspection Service Delivery Manager is responsible for leading the operational delivery of Inspection Services across the Netherlands, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with LRQA procedures, accreditation requirements, and Inspection Services governance standards.
The role is accountable for operational performance, service quality, inspector competence, resource utilisation, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. You will lead and develop a team of managers, surveyors, inspectors, and technical specialists while driving operational excellence and supporting the strategic growth of Inspection Services.
Working closely with regional and global stakeholders, you will ensure inspection activities meet business objectives, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and customer expectations while supporting the implementation of new tools, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop managers, surveyors, inspectors, and technical personnel within the Netherlands Inspection Services team.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, accountability, and customer focus.
- Conduct performance reviews, development planning, and regular coaching sessions.
- Ensure competence management processes are maintained, including qualifications, authorisations, and ongoing development of inspection personnel.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and workforce development activities.
- Drive employee engagement and promote a positive, high-performing working environment.
- Provide visible leadership across operational teams and act as a role model for LRQA values and behaviours.
Operational Management & Service Delivery
- Lead the delivery of Inspection Services across the Netherlands, ensuring agreed service levels and business objectives are achieved.
- Manage operational resources, workforce planning, and inspector allocation to maximise productivity and utilisation.
- Monitor operational KPIs, utilisation rates, delivery performance, customer commitments, and project execution.
- Ensure inspection activities are delivered safely, consistently, and efficiently.
- Support operational teams with complex technical, commercial, and customer escalations.
- Collaborate with planning, scheduling, sales, and client operations teams to optimise service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvements in operational effectiveness, workflow processes, and service performance.
- Maximise surveyor and inspector utilisation while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
Quality, Governance & Compliance
- Ensure Inspection Services are delivered in accordance with LRQA policies, procedures, accreditation requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain compliance with applicable inspection schemes, standards, and accreditation body requirements.
- Support internal audits, accreditation assessments, and external audits.
- Ensure inspector competence, authorisations, and qualifications remain compliant with applicable requirements.
- Monitor service quality metrics and implement corrective and preventive actions where required.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and promote a culture of continual improvement.
- Ensure appropriate governance and technical oversight are maintained across inspection activities.
Financial & Business Performance
- Deliver operational performance in line with budget, business plans, and financial targets.
- Monitor operational costs, productivity, utilisation, and profitability.
- Drive improvements in resource efficiency and operational cost performance.
- Support revenue growth through effective service delivery and customer retention.
- Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and operational strategy development.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational scalability and service capability.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Act as a senior escalation point for client concerns, delivery issues, and operational risks.
- Ensure customer feedback is reviewed and actions implemented to improve service quality.
- Work closely with sales and commercial teams to support business development opportunities.
- Collaborate with technical, quality, operational, and global Inspection Services teams.
- Represent LRQA professionally with customers, industry bodies, and accreditation organisations.
Technology & Continuous Improvement
- Support testing, deployment, and adoption of new Group IT tools and digital solutions for Inspection Services.
- Champion digital transformation initiatives across Inspection operations.
- Drive process optimisation and standardisation activities.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, service delivery, and customer experience.
- Actively contribute to global and regional improvement programmes.
Essential Requirements
- Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience within the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry.
- Proven experience managing operational service delivery teams within inspection, engineering, technical assurance, or a related environment.
- Strong understanding of inspection processes, technical governance, accreditation requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing operational budgets, resource planning, and workforce utilisation.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with geographically dispersed technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of operational KPIs, performance management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer relationship skills.
- Experience managing customer and operational escalations.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable leading change initiatives and business transformation programmes.
- Experience supporting or implementing operational technologies, digital tools, or system changes.
- Willingness to travel within the Netherlands as required.
