About the Role
Reporting to the Cluster Sales Leader, the Strategic Account Manager is responsible for developing and securing new business opportunities within targeted strategic accounts.
This role plays a critical part in driving revenue growth by leading strategic sales initiatives, developing account plans, and building long-term relationships with key clients.
Additional areas of focus include:
• Leading strategic sales priorities and implementation plans for key accounts, leveraging opportunities, framework agreements, and service contracts to maximise revenue growth
• Introducing new products and services added to the LRQA portfolio through acquisitions and ongoing product development
• Supporting strategic bids and acting as a key contributor throughout the bid process
• Acting as the local lead and representative for colleagues’ accounts where geographical strategic support is required
• Collaborating with Global Account Managers (GAMs) and local Strategic Account Managers to maximise pipeline opportunities and drive sales growth
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with LRQA’s growth objectives and revenue targets
• Build and strengthen client relationships, expanding networks of key stakeholders and decision-makers within each organisation
• Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting, sales stages, timelines, and expected closure dates
• Identify and prioritise new business opportunities to maximise client satisfaction and revenue growth
• Collaborate closely with internal teams including Marketing, Service Delivery, and Service Delivery Support to ensure successful account development
• Lead or support commercial opportunities, proposals, and bids depending on the account strategy and business requirements
• Understand client challenges and position tailored LRQA solutions that address operational, compliance, and inspection-related needs
• Maintain strong market and sector knowledge to support strategic discussions and identify opportunities for additional services
• Prepare accurate sales reports, pipeline updates, and performance summaries for management and leadership teams
What You’ll Bring
• Demonstrated success in achieving annual sales targets within a B2B environment
• Proven experience working with large strategic organisations to develop tailored sales solutions
• Strong track record of increasing contract value and delivering sustained year-on-year growth
• Experience preparing and delivering proposals and presentations to senior-level stakeholders
• Strong experience in quotations, bids, and proposals, with sound knowledge of pricing and margin management
• Knowledge of the business assurance sector is advantageous but not essential
• Experience within assurance, audit, compliance, inspection, or regulatory services is highly desirable
