Role Purpose  

  • To provide technical review support for EU services specifically PED schemes against defined procedures with some discretion over priorities of workload. Undertakes a range of technical review/support activities and resolves queries for internal/external clients,
  • In particular, conduct technical reviews of client organization files, after each visit requiring a certification decision; client files would contain information such as : commercial agreement, assessment report, certificate
  • Produce reports of technical review/support work carried out

 

Key responsibilities

  • To review pending technical review tasks on a daily basis
  • Complete Contract review, for assigned jobs; when required, discuss with other technical reviewers with a goal to ensure that set KPIs are achieved
  • Complete Technical review, for assigned jobs; when required, discuss with other technical reviewers/Decision makers, and pick up files for technical reviews with a goal to ensure that set KPIs are achieved
  • Upload Technical review findings/checklist, raise Assessor feedback, raise Office actions, as appropriate
  • Deal with queries and build relationships with internal & external clients, as appropriate
  • To coach other team members, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application
  • Deliver Client training in area of specialisation, as appropriate.
  • Stay abreast of technical developments in own area of expertise, maintaining CPD records and producing them as required
  • Conduct all activities in line with internal procedures, contractual requirements, cost structures and budget constraints
  • Ensure that all internal client stakeholders are kept informed of changes and issues, escalating as appropriate
  • Maintain professional competence by keeping abreast of technical and other developments in own area of expertise, maintaining CPD records, updating LRQA CV, maintaining professional registrations and producing records of competence as required
  • Actively build strong internal relationships
  • Perform additional and ad hoc tasks promptly as required such as assessor development
  • Maintain the TR codes by conducting minimum number of reviews and AM.
  • Maintain Trainer qualification by participating in training programs as a Trainer.
  • To review pending technical review tasks on a daily basis

 

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (preferable Mechanical/ Welding Technology) in a relevant subject with minimum 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing / quality/welding/ design.
  • Preferred with a background in welding, with experience in Welding Procedure and Personnel Qualification. Holding an International Welding Engineer (IWE) qualification or Degree/ Post Graduate degree in Welding Technology is a strong advantage.
  • Preferred with understanding of PED Directive 2014/68/EU and the conformity Modules
  • Preferred with understanding of Materials/ Welding/ NDE and experience in related fields.
  • Preferred with understanding of Various International Codes and Standards like ASME/ EN Codes.
  • Substantial experience of management systems/scheme requirements and their application
  • Substantial experience in third party auditing/assessment including system level auditing and process level auditing
  • Substantial industry experience in specialist sector, preferably within a management systems environment
  • Understanding/appreciation of relevant legal/regulatory framework
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 / 17020 / 17065 / 17025 / 17021/17024 Schemes is preferable
  • Knowledge of client’s business sector - Knowledge of the terminology, practices and processes common to a client’s business sector sufficient to understand an audit report in the context of the management system standard or other normative document.
