Our Business Assurance & Inspection Business Unit is a recognised, world-leading professional assurance services organisation. We specialise in management systems compliance, product, system & process certification services with expert advice across a broad spectrum of standards, schemes & business improvement services, including customised training & assurance programs.
Reporting into the SAM Sales Manager (HSAM), the purpose of the Strategic Account Manager is to:
- Develop and win new business with strategic accounts.
- Build strong relationships with key individuals in client accounts.
- Lead strategic sales priorities to maximize revenue and growth.
- Introduce new products and services from acquisitions and development.
- Support and contribute to strategic bids.
- Represent colleague’s accounts locally, liaising with Strategic Account Managers to drive sales and pipeline opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Results Driven Delivery
Manage Strategic Accounts: Handle a selection of strategic accounts with an initial annual revenue value of £0.5-3m, aiming to grow this significantly year on year.
Implementation Strategy: Create and execute strategies for new sales in your accounts, collaborating with LRQA teams.
Performance Indicators: Focus on retention, revenue growth, and new logo wins.
- Account Management Skills
Strategic Account Plans: Develop and deliver plans to maximize revenue opportunities in line with group growth objectives.
Client Development: Continually develop each client's business focus and strategy, grow the network of influencers, and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities.
Team Engagement: Engage proactively with LRQA teams like marketing, Service Delivery (SD), and Service Delivery Support (SDS).
- Pipeline Management Skills
Client Pipelines: Manage pipelines to meet targets, ensuring accuracy in values, sales stages, and closure timelines.
Pipeline Correction: Take action to correct and maintain the pipeline to reflect accurate sales forecasts.
- Preparation and Delivery of Account Plans
Account Plans: Ensure strategic accounts have up-to-date, viable plans driving growth initiatives.
Prioritization: Use account plans to prioritize opportunities, marketing support, and team efforts.
- Contract Renewals and RFPs
Retention Management: Manage business retention, minimize risk of loss, and re-secure contracts.
New Business Opportunities: Play an active role in new business opportunities, either leading or supporting sales.
- Problem Solving
Customized Solutions: Identify problems and provide customized solutions using LRQA products and services.
- Market Knowledge and Strategic Prioritization
Market Knowledge: Maintain strong strategic knowledge of the market to communicate effectively with clients and contribute to LRQA business plans.
- Contribution to Sales Meetings and Performance Summaries
Reports and Summaries: Produce sales and pipeline reports, performance summaries, and updates on project actions.
Technical Requirements/ Qualifications
Essential:
- Achieving annual sales targets in a B2B environment with at least 2 years' experience.
- Developing sales solutions for large strategic organizations to solve business problems.
- Growing contract values with large accounts through year-on-year double-digit growth.
- Fluent communication in English and at least one other business language in your region.
- Preparing and delivering proposal presentations to senior audiences.
- Managing quotations, bids, and proposals with knowledge of pricing strategies.
- Working collaboratively across teams, including marketing, to achieve growth targets.
- Proficiency in standard IT programs, Salesforce, and proprietary business software.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the business assurance sector.
- A degree or equivalent education qualification used in your career.
