Role Purpose: To undertake legal and voluntary verifications and technical reviews against the appropriate standards. Where directed, act as Team Leader ensuring the delivery of the verification requirements to the client.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Within authorized area of specialism, undertake verifications and, where directed, undertake technical reviews in accordance with current procedures and agreed timescales ensuring that all duties are carried out right first time
  • Lead verification teams effectively, ensuring that the visit is completed within the agreed timescales, coordinating team findings to reach conclusions and timely production of the visit report.
  • Produce high quality verification reports or others such as summary reports, reflecting LRQA principles in compliance with timescales, accreditation requirements and internal procedures
  • Have sufficient broad knowledge of LRQA’s products and services to able to discuss additional services with clients and be able to take every opportunity to promote additional or higher value services while actively building strong relationships
  • Ensure that all internal client stakeholders are kept informed of changes and issues, escalating as appropriate
  • Pass opportunities and sales leads to appropriate colleagues to progress
  • Pass client feedback and insights to appropriate internal recipients initiating and leading clients improvement projects as required
  • Maintain professional competence as appropriate to your role including keeping abreast of technical and other developments in own area of expertise, participate fully in organised training events, maintaining personal CPD records, updating LRQA CV, maintaining professional registrations and producing records of competence as required
  • Actively build strong client and internal relationships through proactive communication and action to fulfil their expectations
  • Supervise and coach Verifiers under training, recommending authorisation and further development activities as appropriate. Mentor less experienced Verifiers to assist in the development of their professional skills.
  • Participate fully in Verifier meetings, training events, calibration meetings and where applicable, coaching or mentoring others.
  • Participate in projects and additional ad hoc tasks as directed in a prompt and efficient manner such as verifier development, product development, training material development or projects. Where directed, support the delivery of commercial training services.
  • Assess the risks and work in a safe manner at all times, robustly implementing health and safety rules, instructions and systems and refuse to undertake work that compromises your safety or health.
  • Report in a timely manner all incidents including near miss and safety observations (NMSO), accidents and injuries and raise any health and safety concerns with your line manager.

 

 The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Thorough understanding of scheme requirements and their application (i.e: EU-ETS, ISO 14064, GHG protocol, Bilan Carbone…)
  • Experience in third party auditing/verification including system level auditing and process level auditing
  • Industry experience within a GHG data & information management
  • Understanding/appreciation of relevant International, European and National legal/regulatory frameworks
  • An engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject: combustion or metallurgical or chemical
  • Analytical mind, rigorous, able to handle large quantity of data and information in multiple spreadsheets
  • Appreciation of the full range of LRQA products and services
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in industry (preferably in GHG projects)
  • Location:  close to north or east of France
  • Able to audit in English and French
