Role purpose:

Assess the design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets, using defined Codes, Standards, specifications, procedures and knowledge and experience appropriate for complex/demanding situations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Perform complex assessments, provide specialist advice/solution and training to internal/external clients within agreed parameters including budget constraints and contractual requirements. Produce the deliverable within the agreed parameters in an appropriate format, and take responsibility to review and monitor other employees' work as requested. Assess/recommend the time/value of work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure and within the commercial aspects of the contract, and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and LRQA’s standard terms and conditions (e.g. commercial notice). Discuss the deliverable with internal/external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards. Contribute to internal/external client management, as appropriate, by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client - LRQA relationships.

 

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A relevant bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent institution.
  • 4 to 8 years of relevant work experience, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of specialist requirements, knowledge, and application.
  • Proficient in the design and construction of pressure equipment and pressure systems in accordance with PED (2014/68/EU).
  • Experienced in creating and using P&IDs, equipment lists, and line lists.
  • Preferably experienced in using Hazop studies and reports (IEC61882).
  • Preferably experienced in case determination and relief calculations of Pressure Safety Valves (API and or EN).
  • Preferably experienced in using Safety Instrumented Systems (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511).
  • Proficiency in French is required.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, corresponding with the work.
