About LRQA:
LRQA is a global leader in assurance services, committed to helping clients manage risk and build resilience. With a strong heritage and decades of expertise, we deliver innovative solutions in certification, customized assurance, cybersecurity, inspection, and training.
Operating in 50 countries, with 2,500+ colleagues, LRQA supports over 60,000 clients across diverse sectors, generating £315 million in annual revenue. Our mission is to create a safer, more sustainable future by combining deep technical knowledge with a client-first approach.
The Role:
We are looking for two highly competent, in-house designers who bring both technical craft and brand judgement. This role covers the practical delivery of artwork and design collateral to a professional standard, across both print and digital formats. The role protects and evolves the LRQA brand day-to-day, adapting it to suit different audiences or markets, and knowing when it shouldn't.
The roles sit within LRQA’s Creative Services function, as part of the Brand and Creative pillar of the Communications team. The Communications team is responsible for the visual expression of the LRQA brand across its global business and solution portfolios, working closely with central and regional marketing functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a guardian of the LRQA brand, ensuring all creative output is sharp, modern, professional and consistent with brand guidelines.
- Identify and recommend areas where the brand can flex appropriately, for example by region, audience or channel, without compromising brand integrity.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of brand assets, templates and guidelines, keeping them current and fit for purpose. Design and produce a wide range of marketing and communications materials, including reports, presentations, digital assets, event materials and campaign content.
- Execute artwork to a professional standard, including preparing print-ready files.
- Manage multiple design requests and projects concurrently, balancing quality against deadlines across a global business.
- Support the design and maintenance of templates across the brand portfolio.
- Work closely with the other designer in the team, sharing workload, feedback and standards to ensure consistency across output.
- Partner with central and regional marketing and communications colleagues globally to understand briefs and translate them into effective creative work.
- Maintain a well organised, shared library of design files and assets, so work is easy to find, reuse and hand over.
What You’ll Bring :
Essential
- Proven experience as an in-house or agency designer, ideally within a corporate, professional services or regulated industry environment.
- Advanced proficiency across the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop, along with confident use of Canva or similar tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, for occasional slide and template work.
- Solid understanding of artworking and print production, including file preparation, colour profiles and working with external printers.
- A genuine eye for brand: the judgement to know what strengthens a brand, what weakens it and where there is room to flex.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects at once, working to deadlines across a global organisation.
Desirable:
- Experience with a digital asset management (DAM) system or structured approach to file and version management.
- Basic motion or video editing skills, for example in After Effects or Premiere Pro.
- Familiarity with accessibility considerations for digital assets, such as colour contrast and accessible document structure.
- Experience using a job tracking or workflow tool, such as Asana or Monday.com, to manage design requests.
- Experience designing for a global or multi-market audience, including awareness of localisation and translation needs.
- Familiarity with UI design tools such as Figma, for input into digital or web-based projects.
