Purpose of the Role

  • To deliver high-quality verification services whilst actively developing and growing client relationships, identifying commercial opportunities and supporting business growth.
  • Acts as a trusted technical advisor to clients, maintaining impartiality and independence whilst promoting LRQA's portfolio of assurance, verification and advisory services.
  • The role combines technical verification delivery with responsibility for business development, account growth and revenue generation within an assigned sector, geography or client portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

Verification & Technical Delivery:

  • Plan and Conduct verification of ESG, sustainability and climate-related disclosures (e.g. GHG emissions, CSRD, EU Taxonomy, Net Zero targets).
  • Evaluate evidence, data, systems and processes against verification criteria.
  • Identify and communicate findings in a professional, objective and constructive manner.
  • Produce high-quality reports and verification statements within agreed service levels.
  • Maintain technical competence and authorisation across applicable schemes and sectors.

Business Development:

  • Identify opportunities for new and expanded verification, certification, training and advisory services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client business challenges, risks and strategic priorities.
  • Identify and originate client opportunities through insight-led technical discussions.
  • Support proposal development, scoping, pricing discussions and contract renewals.
  • Contribute to revenue growth and client portfolio development.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Account Management and Marketing teams to develop business opportunities.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a trusted LRQA representative and primary technical contact for assigned clients.
  • Develop long-term partnerships through proactive client engagement.
  • Conduct account reviews and identify future client needs.
  • Promote the value of LRQA services through insight-led discussions.
  • Support customer retention and revenue growth initiatives.

Quality, Risk & Compliance:

  • Maintain independence, impartiality and confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensure all verification activities are conducted in accordance with LRQA procedures and accreditation requirements.
  • Identify and escalate potential compliance, technical or ethical concerns.
  • Support internal and external audits, accreditation assessments and quality reviews.

Market & Industry Development:

  • Maintain awareness of market developments, emerging regulations and industry trends.
  • Represent LRQA at industry events, conferences and client forums.
  • Share market intelligence and client feedback with internal stakeholders.
  • Support development of new service offerings and sector initiatives.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

  • Relevant degree, technical qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in verification, auditing, inspection or assurance activities.
  • Experience with ESG frameworks and standards (e.g. CSRD, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, TCFD, EU Taxonomy).
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Experience managing customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and convert commercial opportunities.
  • Ability to transition from advisory-oriented roles to independent verification, adopting an objective and evidence-based assessment approach
  • English language proficency 

 

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in a seller-doer, consultant or client-facing technical role.
  • Knowledge of regulated or accredited conformity assessment environments.
  • Business development or account management experience.
  • Sector expertise relevant to LRQA's strategic growth markets.
  • Experience with CRM and pipeline management tools.
