Role Purpose

To assess the design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets against agreed Codes, Standards, specifications and procedures, using experience and knowledge appropriate for routine solutions.

 

Home based - Central Scotland

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope and provide advice for service delivery within agreed parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.  
  • Produce reports/certificates/documents to an agreed format and within agreed timescale.
  • Undertake and maintain agreed personal authorisations.  Follow up training plans, perform activity monitoring/document monitoring and pursue continuous professional development.  Maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness. 
  • Conduct all activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.

 

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Shall possess appropriate trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification, including job-specific certifications such as ASME, PED etc 
  • Preferred Batchelor's degree from a recognised University (* HNC/HND will be considered depending on level of experience)
  • Will possess sufficient, relevant previous working experience to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant requirements, knowledge and application (e.g. Welding, Fabrication, Materials, Machinery, Well Control Equipmet etc.)
  • Effective interpersonal skills 
  • Competent in MS Office suite of software 
  • 6-10 years’ relevant working experience preferred or equivalent knowledge
