Role purpose:
Provide 3rd party inspection and certification services and/or ASME coded inspection for pressure equipment and boiler manufacture in accordance to ASME coded requirements, Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU & other statutory inspection such as DOSH-Malaysia, MHLW-Japan, MoM- Singapore services.
Using knowledge and experience as appropriate for complex and demanding situations to ensure service delivery. This role may also include managing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· To perform inspection, assessments, provide specialist advice/solution and training to internal/external clients, research or development work within agreed parameters including budget and contractual requirements.
· To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employees' or subcontractors work as requested.
· To discuss/present the deliverable with internal/external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
· Undertake routine administration as required in line with the current processes and procedures.
· To assess/recommend the time/value of work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure within the commercial aspect of the contract, and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and LRQA‘s standard terms and conditions (e.g. commercial notice).
· To pursue Continuing Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
· To conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
· To technically develop other employees as appropriate to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
· To contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships.
· To make recommendations based on external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.
· To undertake project management where applicable including monitoring project performance against budget and contract requirements.
Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or higher from a recognized university or equivalent. Chartered/Professional qualification and a member of a relevant professional institution are desirable. Eg. API certified Inspectors, ASME AIS / AI, NDE certification, etc.
· Minimum 10 years working experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power sectors and involve in operations or projects.
· Familiar with procurement, manufacturing, QA/QC practices, NDE techniques, new-build or in-service inspection for pressure equipment, piping and storage tank.
· Knowledge of legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements of the relevant countries within area of responsibility and industry best practices.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
· Awareness of LRQA ’s strategies, products and processes across LRQA service lines.
